Bastille began as a solo project by singer/songwriter Dan Smith, and added three more members in 2010. The name Bastille stems from Smith's birthday, July 14, which is Bastille day. Way to not make it about yourself man. Originally working as an indie pop group, Bastille saw tremendous success in their most popular single "Pompeii", which reached #2 in the U.K. They later released All This Bad Blood, which sold over two million copies and a gorge of British award nominations.
