The First Noël (also written The First Nowell, Noël meaning "Christmas" in French) is a traditional English carol, most likely from the 18th century, possibly earlier. Current version is of Cornish origin (England's Cornwall peninsula), published in 1823, later arranged by John Stainer in 1871.
