James Hillier Blount, born on February 22, 1974 in Tidworth, Wiltshire, England, is better known by his performer name James Blunt. He is an singer/songwriter who was originally signed to EMI Music Publishing before acquiring a recording contract with Custard Records and licensed to Atlantic Records. Along side his vocal talent, he also plays the piano, guitar, and ukulele. The British Army sponsored Blunt's university education so he was obliged to serve in the armed forces. Blunt became an officer in the Life Guards which is a cavalry regiment of the British Army.
