"The Blue Danube" (original German title: "An der schoenen blauen Donau", which translates to "By the Beautiful Blue Danube") was composed by Johann Strauss II in 1866. Already during his lifetime, he was known as "The Waltz King", and this famous waltz (Op. 314) is certainly one of the main reasons for this nickname!
