They rose to fame just after graduating high school with their debut studio album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005). Popular songs such as, "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", drove the album to become certified double platinum in the United States. This caught the attention of Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz's label, Decaydance Records, who signed the band before they even played a live show.
