Originally from Laeken, Brussels, Stromae is a Belgian musician, rapper, singer, and songwriter. He rooted himself in the electronic and hip hop music genres. Stromae came to fame in 2009 with his popular song "Alors on danse", which grew into a number one in various European countries. His second album Racine Carrée released in 2013, was a commercial hit, selling two million copies in France alone and nearly 600,000 units elsewhere.
