The Goldberg Variations (BWV 988) belong to the most famous compositions by Johann Sebastian Bach. Published in 1741, they consist of an aria, followed by 30 variations. They were popularized by Glenn Gould, who recorded them for his debut album in 1955, which became one of the most famous piano recordings of all time!
